Detroit Lions sign Kellen Moore to 2-year deal

As expected the Lions have brought back quarterback Kellen Moore for his fourth season in Detroit. He was signed to a two-year deal the team announced on Friday.

Moore, 25, has not yet played a snap in the regular season. In part-time work in four preseason games in 2014 Moore completed 35 of 51 passes for 361 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

He was No. 3 on the depth chart in 2014 behind Matthew Stafford and Dan Orlovsky.

General manager Martin Mayhew said weeks ago the Lions were interested in bringing Moore back.

The offseason is key for the quarterback from Boise State who signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012.

On Friday, the Lions also signed kicker Matt Prater to a three-year deal worth about $9 million per Ian Rapoport, the NFL Network insider.
