Detroit Lions sign Caraun Reid, fifth-round defensive tackle from Princeton

Caraun Reid, the Detroit Lions fifth-round pick, has signed a four-year deal. His agent Mike McCartney announced that a deal was complete on Twitter.

He’s the first of the eight Lions’ draft picks to sign.

Reid, a 301-pound defensive tackle from Princeton, could compete for a job to back up Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley this season.

Reid is expected to participate in the Lions’ three-day rookie minicamp which starts on Friday.

I've known Caraun for about 7-8 years. Followed him throughout his Princeton career. He dominated in spite of being double-teamed and triple-teamed. He LOVES TO PLAY! His motor NEVER ran down. And he is absolutely FUN TO WATCH! Detroit should be excited about their new Defensive Tackle. And they should be especially proud and even ECSTATIC about getting a young man whose reputation is above reproach. Detroit REALLY made out on this one. I'm a "Washington Football Team" fan by birth. So, I still gotta root for them. But, I hope to follow and cheer for Caraun and the Detroit Lions for years to come. You'll see, HE'S FUN TO WATCH! (Love your Head Coach, Jim Caldwell, too.) Go LIONS!
