Lions Brandon Pettigrew out; Louis Delmas to start


DETROIT — Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew will miss his second straight game with a sprained left ankle.

Pettigrew sustained the injury two weeks ago at Green Bay and has not practiced or played since then. The offense has missed his presence.

Will Heller will start in place of Pettigrew.

Free safety Louis Delmas will start for the second straight game. Delmas, who has a lingering knee injury, practiced on a limited basis on Thursday and said he planned to play. He was listed as questionable on the Friday injury report.

Other inactives for the Lions are: Ron Bartell, Ogembi Nwagbuo, Ronnell Lewis, Jason Fox, Corey Hilliard and Kellen Moore.

Inactives for the Falcons are: Dominique Davis, Tim Toone (former Lions WR), William Moore, Phillipkeith Manley, Harland Gunn, Chase Coffman and Cliff Matthew.
