Don't be shy, share your predictions for the Lions' regular season

With the preseason just about behind us, it’s finally time for predictions.

Tell me what you think the Lions’ final record will be this season and I’ll run your picks in a story in the Lions’ special preview section that comes out before the Sept. 11 opener.

What do I think? I’ll tell you, but I want to hear your predictions first.

Send me record and a short sentence or two to explain. Thanks.

I won't be shy. I predict the Lions will improve to 9-7 but I also predict your writing will keep reminding me of the Millen years. Let's see how objective you are in what you decide to publish.

Tough call. The over/under on the China doll is 6 games. But they did OK without him at the end of last season and seem to have upgraded. I'll go 8-8.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that these Lions are on the brink of being described as "elite team", "dynasty", etc. That said, they have a fairly tough schedule.

10-6 is the record I expect, although luck (injuries, "procedure" calls, etc.) in the NFL can swing that up to 4 wins in either direction.

You have to love the hard cores that have too many dollars and not enough sense. The future looked bright in the Wayne Fontes years and how did that work out? Another one mentions dynasty. That guy was paying too much attention to Linda Evans and not enough to the plot line. With a whole lot of lucky breaks they go 9 and 7.

Relatively injury free = 10-6. Injury prone = 7-9.

You want to keep your pick a secret until you can make a big splash with it, and thats funny. In case you forgot, you said Matt Millen was a great hire when that happened. That made a splash like a meteorite hitting a septic tank. You wrote it so own it. Nobody seriously thinks the Lions will get anywhere near the Super Bowl and what else really matters. Just for kicks Ill say 7-9 but I have a bet that says you come in with at least 10 wins. Well see.
