Five things Lions must do to have chance at beating Packers

Five things the Lions must do on Sunday to have a chance to beat the Packers:

1. The defensive line must exert relentless pressure on QB Aaron Rodgers. He’s been sacked only three times this season, he’s not an easy target. However the Lions fearsome foursome must get in his face early and often.

2. The secondary must play as well as they say they do in practice. Louis Delmas, who has been hurt by not practicing much due to a groin injury, had a better game last week against the Vikings. Now he needs to take it to the next level. All his db buddies need to step up also.

3. Stay aggressive on both sides of the ball. Defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham said his guys are getting more physical which is exactly how he envisions a good defense.

4. The Lions must be able to run the ball. Must. It looks like Jahvid Best could play which would help. He needs another game like he had against the Eagles. When they stopped him on the ground, Shaun Hill connected with him through the air. If Best doesn’t play it will be up to Maurice Morris, Jerome Felton and Kevin Smith (if he’s activated).

5. Stay the course, don’t fold. Mistakes happen, it’s how a team bounces back that matters.

OK, that said, it’s going to be tough for the Lions. The Packers are likely to be a little feisty coming off a Monday night loss at Chicago and Lambeau Field is not a friendly place to play.
