No deal imminent between Lions, Pacman Jones

The report that Adam “Pacman” Jones is close to signing a deal with the Detroit Lions and will be introduced on Tuesday is not true, according to a league source.

Nothing has changed since earlier in the week when coach Jim Schwartz said the Lions were definitely interested in acquiring Jones, according to the source.

When Schwartz was the defensive coordinator with the Tennessee Titans he coached Jones, a cornerback and receiver who played at West Virginia for Rich Rodriguez.

Jones is free to once again play in the NFL after being suspended for the entire 2007 season and part of the 2008 season for off-the-field transgressions.

He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2008 when he had a short stay with the Dallas Cowboys.
