Lions: Warren Sapp likes McCoy over Suh

Warren Sapp has checked in on the debate between defensive tackles Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy.

Sapp wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “Good Morning, Dust has Settles 4 Me! Take McCoy! Ain’t No Bench Press On the any Yd Line! Feet Beat Weights everyday & Twice on Sunday!!’’

How eloquent and to the point.

McCoy is being criticized for bench pressing 225 pounds just 23 times while Suh managed 32 at the NFL Combine. Both are about the same size — 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds. Both had excellent college careers and both are personable, charismatic leaders. McCoy is considered to be a more explosive pass rusher, but Suh is not exactly a slouch.

Why does this matter? Because with the second pick the Lions have a good shot at drafting one of them.

We can all guess, but Sapp’s opinion should carry some weight. Follow him on Twitter @QBkilla. (He has upwards of 397,000 followers).
