Lions agree to deal with CB Jonathan Wade

While coach Jim Schwartz said that the Lions were probably done signing big-name free agents, it does not mean they aren’t looking to improve the roster before the April 22 draft.

A huge need is at cornerback since they released Phillip Buchanon and let Will James and Anthony Henry become unrestricted free agents.

On Monday they found a cornerback in Jonathan Wade, 25, who played the last three seasons in St. Louis. Wade agreed to a deal with the Lions according to ProFootballTalk.com. He was drafted by St. Louis in the third round (84th overall) in 2007 after playing college football at Tennessee.

Also, talks continue with 25-year-old cornerback Chris Houston, who spent the last three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. The Lions would give up a sixth-round pick and change positions in the fifth round according to ESPN reports.
