Bradford's rising stock is good news for Lions

Quarterback Sam Bradford’s pro day at Oklahoma on Monday was streamed live so there would be no questions or discrepancy about the workout.

So the deal is he completed 49 of 50 passes. Accuracy is not an issue, not that anyone should have expected it would be. Teams will probably get more out of their private workouts with Bradford in the next few weeks. That includes the St. Louis Rams who will work him out early in the week of the draft.

The Rams, who have the first overall pick, need a franchise quarterback and it seems crazy to think they might pass up on Bradford. Perhaps after watching his workouts it will convince them he’s the right guy.

That would be huge for the Lions who would then have their pick of the rest including defensive tackles Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy. Even though McCoy played with Bradford, they had different pro days. McCoy joined the rest of the Sooners on their pro day. Bradford had his own. At the combine, McCoy had an easy explanation for that when he called Bradford “the king.”
