Three out for Saturday

ALLEN PARK — Three Lions are definitely out for Saturday’s preseason game against Indianapolis at Ford Field. Cornerback Anthony Henry (shoulder), cornerback Phillip Buchanon (neck) and wide receiver Dennis Northcutt (thumb) will not play.

Running back Kevin Smith (bruised hip) and linebacker Ernie Sims (ribs) will be game-time decisions. Coach Jim Schwartz said Smith has a better chance of playing than Sims.

Rookie tight end Brandon Pettigrew, a first-round pick, will see his first preseason action as will veteran wide receivers Calvin Johnson and Bryant Johnson.
